Bulk Material Supply & Silo Unit Description

High-capacity storage and feeding hopper ensures a continuous and homogeneous delivery of dry material to the mixing unit via gravity feed. This is essential for maintaining a steady supply chain during uninterrupted, large-scale construction projects.

Continuous Mixing & Pumping Station

Advanced automated concrete delivery system precisely combines the dry mix with water to achieve the required printability. The integrated pump manages the separation-free delivery of the wet material to the robot nozzle at a constant, synchronized flow rate.

Mobile Crawler Platform

All-terrain, tracked mobile robot base designed for construction site conditions, provides high mobility within the job site, allowing the system to move between printing locations. Integrated hydraulic outriggers ensure a vibration-free and perfectly leveled workspace during the printing process to maintain geometric precision.

Axis Industrial Robotic Arm

Precisely moves the concrete extruder along complex 3D trajectories. Its wide work envelope allows for the on-site production of large structural elements such as columns, load-bearing walls, or bespoke urban furniture.

Advanced 1K & 2K 3DCP Extrusion Systems

1K Extruder: Optimized for standard "wet-mix" printing where the material sets naturally. This is the ideal solution for robust structural walls and large-scale urban elements with standard vertical profiles, ensuring consistent layer bonding. 2K Extruder: Utilizes an active mixing chamber at the nozzle to inject chemical accelerators. This technology is vital for high-speed construction and complex, cantilevered, or overhanging geometries, as it provides the "instant strength" required to support the weight of incoming layers without deformation.

Integrated Control Interface (HMI)

Monitors the real-time synchronization between robotic motion and concrete pump output. It centralizes all critical operational controls, including trajectory monitoring, flow rate adjustment, and safety protocols.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Avenco Concrete Extruder System?

The Avenco Concrete Extruder System is a high-performance robotic solution developed for 3D concrete printing. It integrates concrete preparation, pumping, robotic motion, and digital control into a single automated production system. The solution is designed for additive manufacturing applications in construction, architecture, and industrial production.

What is the difference between the 1K and 2K Concrete Extruders?

The 1K Concrete Extruder is a lightweight and low-maintenance solution designed for large-scale structures and applications with longer layer times.

The 2K Concrete Extruder features a servo-driven mixer that enables faster curing and layer times of under 10 seconds, making it suitable for complex geometries, overhangs, and high-detail applications.

What scale of production does the system support?

The Avenco system supports a wide range of production scales, from large-scale buildings and structural walls to architectural components, urban furniture, and landscaping elements. It can be used for both pre-printed components and on-site construction applications.

How is the concrete mixture prepared?

Concrete is prepared using a dedicated Concrete Batching Plant installed on site. The batching system uses automated dosing through M-tec pumps to ensure fresh, homogeneous, and accurately proportioned concrete for each print. This process guarantees consistent material quality throughout production.

What are the pumping capacity and printing performance of the system?

The system delivers a pumping capacity of up to 35 liters per minute, supporting high-speed and continuous extrusion. It enables maximum print speeds of up to 20,000 millimeters per minute, with adjustable layer heights ranging from 5 to 30 millimeters, depending on project requirements.

Is the system mobile and suitable for on-site use?

Yes. The Avenco Concrete Extruder System is available with multiple base configurations, including fixed installations, crawler-based mobile platforms, and linear rail systems. The crawler configuration allows the robot to move freely on site when not printing, enabling flexible deployment and large-scale construction workflows.

Which industrial robots are compatible with the system?

Avenco is an official KUKA systems partner, and the Concrete Extruder System is designed to operate seamlessly with industrial KUKA robotic arms. This integration ensures high precision, repeatability, and reliability during complex printing operations.

What software and digital control infrastructure does the system use?

The system operates with advanced robotic CAM software solutions and digital control infrastructure. Integrations with ENCY, Ai Build, and Adaxis enable direct translation of digital designs into robotic printing paths. Beckhoff automation technology provides precise control, monitoring, and synchronization of all system components.

What advantages does 3D concrete printing offer compared to traditional construction methods?

Robotic 3D concrete printing eliminates the need for formwork and significantly reduces manual labor. This results in faster production times, lower material waste, reduced labor costs, and enhanced design freedom. Complex and non-standard geometries that are difficult or impossible with traditional methods can be produced efficiently.

Is the system environmentally sustainable?

Yes. Thanks to additive manufacturing principles, the system minimizes concrete waste and improves energy efficiency. By using only the material required for each structure, it supports environmentally responsible construction and enables the production of durable, long-lasting structures with reduced environmental impact.

How does the system improve workplace safety?

By automating the construction process and reducing manual handling, the system significantly lowers the risk of workplace accidents. Operators can control and monitor the process from safe locations, creating a more controlled, predictable, and secure working environment.

In which sectors can the system be used?

The Avenco Concrete Extruder System is suitable for building and construction projects, architectural components, urban furniture, landscaping and outdoor products, decorative concrete elements, and specialized applications such as artificial reef structures and infrastructure projects.

In which regions is Avenco active?

Avenco delivers robotic manufacturing solutions to more than 40 countries across six continents. The company operates with its headquarters and production facilities in Istanbul, along with an office and workshop in Dubai.

How many operators are required to run the system?

The system can be operated by a single trained operator. Automated batching, pumping, and robotic control significantly reduce manpower requirements and help lower overall project costs.

Can the system be customized for specific projects?

Yes. The system can be configured according to project needs, including extruder type, base configuration, production scale, and software integrations. This flexibility allows Avenco solutions to adapt to a wide range of applications and project requirements.
